Exclusive access to a widebody capability hangar
Together with our trusted partner Challenge Technic, a Part-145 company – we are supporting airline operations directly at Hannover Airport, Hangar 2.
Airlines operating widebodies in Europe often face the same challenge: Hangar slots are often limited and tightly scheduled, especially in wintertime, which is the “heavy maintenance” season.
That’s why we’ve teamed up with Challenge Technic, to offer a smarter solution right where it’s needed: at Hannover Airport (HAJ), Hangar 2.
Ready to cater for one widebody plus two single-aisle aircraft, at an airport with 24/7 operations and a parallel runway system with runway north at 3.800 m – CAT IIIb ILS, this hangar location was widely underutilized for its capabilities in recent years.

Projects
We have already completed successful projects across various aircraft types. What sets this location apart? The unique ability to support widebody aircraft cabin maintenance, modifications, and aircvraft livery – all under one roof.
Whether it’s interior upgrades, aircraft livery applications, or integrated cabin work packages during scheduled checks.
Widebody livery installation on a Boeing 777
Installing a full livery on a widebody aircraft like the Boeing 777 presents both logistical and technical challenges. Limited hangar availability during the winter heavy maintenance season made it essential to find a suitable location for a project of this scale.
When Austrian Airlines approached us with the request to also provide a hangar location, we were able to quickly respond: Hannover Airport Hangar 2.
The process required extensive surface preparation, precise alignment of vinyl segments, and optimized adhesion methods to ensure the durability of the livery under real-world operational conditions.
Cabin lighting upgrade for LEAV Aviation’s A320 D-ANNE
As part of a one-day modification project, the cabin lighting system of A320 D-ANNE, operated by LEAV Aviation, was replaced with the liTeMood® LED system from STG Aerospace.
The plug-and-play system was installed by our team at Hangar 2 in Hannover, in cooperation with Challenge Technic.
The new LED lighting enables customizable cabin moods, with various colors and dynamic scenes for different flight phases, enhancing the overall passenger experience.
This project marked a special occasion: for the first time, two aircraft were serviced simultaneously at Hangar 2 – LEAV Aviation’s A320 and Challenge Air Cargo’s B747-412 (BCF) OO-ACE.
After a successful installation and technical approval, the A320 was released back into service
From Vilnius to Rotterdam – via Hannover
This was the first A320 project for Avion Express at Hangar 2 in Hannover. The aircraft is now operating for Transavia as part of their summer 2025 ACMI program.
Originally planned at a different location, the project was moved to Hannover due to weather conditions. The site turned out to be well suited in terms of both infrastructure and availability.
The scope of work included a full livery change into Transavia colours, as well as a complete EASA Part 21.J modification – including material supply, logistics and installation.
The release to service was done under Part 145 by Challenge Technic. The aircraft was ferried from Hannover Airport to Rotterdam Airport upon project completion.
